A son.
Greetings,

I have an important personal announcement!

My wife and I have a baby on the way; he is due in early May!

(The linked post also includes details on what I'm working on for JBidwatcher2.)

As I say in the post, we're incredibly excited, and a bit scared. It's going to be an amazing journey.

I'll post more about it later, but it's...well, it's been incredible and wonderful, and terrifying and astonishing.

I'm not entirely sure I'll know how to be a good father, having lacked that particular role model in my own life, but I'm sure going to try.

The joy and thankfulness of a new year is upon me, and the vast majority of it surrounds my wonderful wife and our growing baby-to-be.

I just came to look for a new version of JBidWatcher and saw there is even a new version of the developer out. Nice to know that the development of JBidWatcher is now guarenteed to go into the next generation.

Anyways, I tried the current beta and found some bugs, but I get an error when signing it to the platform for reporting bugs. So I will just (mis)use this blog for reporting them.

First I can't add this auction:

and so on and so for. JBidWatcher then eats up 100% of CPU for a little while before coming back.

I hope by now you have figured out the father role. Having been there and done that and now in the grandfather role let me offer one piece of advice for what it is worth.

You job is not to have your children like you or love you, your job is to equip them for their lives ahead with the tools they will need to succeed. Sometimes these two things are at odds with one another so ask yourself this one question: Will I always be there to take care of it for them?

P.S. I just downloaded your software and just began to play with it. I was both surprised and delighted to find the "auto-subtract shipping and insurance (p/p)" feature!
